Dance uniform and supplies Dance is a discipline and our uniform is designed to put all students in the correct frame of mind. The dress code ensures that the school is represented at its best, at all times, and gives the students a sense of pride to be part of the Rosie Clark Dancers whilst additionally encouraging self-discipline.

These products can be conveniently bought through us here at the studio; by appointment, or between the hours of 4pm and 5:30pm Monday-Wednesday. New student starter packs are often available. There is also a large variety of school merchandise available for students to purchase. Simply browse within the waiting area or have a glance in the catalogs. Classical Ballet All student leotards need to be clean and tight fitted, coloured to the appropriate grade. Clean ballet shoes need to be correctly fitted to the dancer's foot so they are nice and firm. Hair needs to be pulled back into a bun with no fringe. A matching ribbon or small decorative embellishment is optional. During the warmer months, ballet socks are acceptable as a substitution for tights. In the colder months, a matching crossover is acceptable and a dance school jacket is advised for arriving and departing from classes.
Pre-Primary and Primary - blue leotard, pink ballet skirt, pink ballet tights, full soled leather ballet shoes with elastics. Grades one and two - blue leotard, pink ballet tights, full soled leather ballet shoes with elastics or ribbons. Pink ballet skirt for when advised. Grades three and four - burgundy leotard, pink ballet tights, full soled leather ballet shoes with elastics or ribbons. Demi-pointe shoes, character shoes, burgundy ballet skirt for when advised. Grades five and six - burgundy leotard, pink ballet tights, split sole leather ballet shoes with elastics or ribbons, demi-pointe shoes and pointe shoes. Character shoes, burgundy ballet skirt for when advised. Higher Grades- any colour leotard, pink ballet tights, split sole leather or canvas ballet shoes with elastics or ribbons, demi-pointe shoes and pointe shoes. Character shoes, black ballet skirt for when advised.
Contemporary Refer to Classical Ballet dress code. Students may wear footless or convertible tights with either contemporary socks or suitable contemporary shoes.
Jazz and Tap Students must wear the appropriate colour leotard for their grade. The following additional items are acceptable from students of a higher level: Black dance pants, shorts, and school tops. All uniforms must be tight fitting and hair must be tied off the face into either a bun or pony tail. Tan (elastic leather )split sole jazz shoes and correct tan tap shoes for the level of the student is required. During the warmer months, tan dance socks are accepted as substitution for tights. During the colder months to help avoid injury, a school jacket is advised for arriving and departing from classes.
Grade 1 - blue leotard, pink ballet skirt, tan ballet tights, tan tap shoes, tan jazz shoes. Grade 2 - blue leotard, tan tights, tan tap shoes, tan jazz shoes. Optional pink ballet skirt or black dance shorts. Grade 3 - blue leotard, tan tights, tan tap shoes, tan jazz shoes. Optional black dance shorts and school top. Grade 4 and 5 - burgundy leotard, tan tights, tan tap shoes, tan jazz shoes. Tan chorus shoes and shiny tights for when advised. Additional items are accepted and encouraged. Grade 6 and higher - any colour leotard, shiny tights, tan tap shoes (higher heals customary), tan jazz shoes, tan chorus shoes. Additional items are accepted and encouraged. Adult Classes - casual. Clothes should allow free movement whilst not draping on the floor.
Hip Hop and Musical Theatre Our Hip hop students need to be neat and tidy for these classes. Current dance leotard with hair in a neat pony tail or tights with shorts or a specialised crop top, specialised 3/4’s or shorts with convertible tights.. Hip hop boots are essential and will be used for the concerts– not sneakers. Musical Theatre students will need jazz shoes.
Acrobatics dance Students need to wear either a dance leotard, tights with shorts or specialized crop top, specialized 3/4’s or shorts with convertible tights. Optional specialized fitted dance top (not loose). Hair needs to be in a bun and clean feet ensured thankyou.
Boys Black dance pants or shorts with a white t-shirt for summer and black t-shirt for winter. Black jazz, ballet and tap shoes.
RAD Examinations Examination students will need to refer to their teacher on this uniform. All examination students will compliment and guide by the RAD specification on exam uniforms.
All Students All students are encouraged to purchase a school jacket. This ensures that students are avoiding injury as they arrive to and from classes. It also is expected when performing at outside events.
